Work-Based Learning

Resources for the Community

Work-based learning programs benefit the local, regional, and state economies in the long-term. It not only builds a local pool of diversified talent but can increase high school and college graduation rates. When students see and experience a purpose for going to school, they are more likely to stay in school and graduate. Work-based learning can suggest that purpose.

Communities play a tremendous impact on a student's life. As these were the first places students interacted with the world around them. Communities give students access to culture, customs, people, sense of identity and purpose. The Coalition recognizes the impact communities have on students as well as work-based learning's impact on the community.

Below are some resources, along with those found on the other pages here, that can help community members, organizations and agencies start work-based learning programs, understand the policies that affect it, and how to get involved. This resource bank is sure to grow, so keep checking back. Please contact us with any questions.
